Getting started with NUCCA Care

In some ways, one could say that chiropractic care is a bit like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly. When building a house, if you tried to build your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually may even collapse. If you tried to build your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. These concepts apply to your body as well, and chiropractic care addresses many common reasons why people experience pain and other health issues. If something is not right with your body's foundation, than that needs to be addressed before true health can be achieved. With chiropractic care, your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of NUCCA care . . .

Phase 1: New Patient Visit 1 &  2

If you are in pain when you come into Life Enhancing Chiropractic, Dr. Nowakowski's first objective is to help you reduce pain and start feeling better as soon as possible. Depending on the severity of the underlying condition which is causing your pain, it is typical for a patient to need NUCCA adjustments up 2 times per week for 3 weeks.

Phase 2: Maintaining Alignment in the Beginning

At first, maintaining your alignment will be more difficult that being out of alignment, for your body, after all its what it is accustomed to.  Many patients want to know how to hold longer, and Dr. Nowakowski will advise them of activities to avoid and good habits to build so they can continue to heal and eventually hold their alignment for much longer.  It is typical to need a NUCCA adjustment once a week for about a month, and then monthly for about 6-8 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

Phase 3: Being Well and Holding Your Adjustment

Once your body has fully healed and you are no longer experiencing back pain or other pain symptoms, it is important to come in for periodic checkups to avoid further problems in the future. Usually, this phase of chiropractic care only requires a check up to verify your alignment or restore with an adjustment, quarterly, or four times a year, based on your lifestyle and goals.

Dr. Nowakowski is still the only Board Certified NUCCA chiropractor in Colorado.

In February 2018 Dr Nowakowski submitted for re-certification with theNUCCA Board.  Her work has been reviewed and she was re-certified.  This is very significant since others may claim to be certified, yet if patients or interested public contact NUCCA.org they will find only people who have submitted to the credentialling and passed the rigorous standards of NUCCA are listed as Board Certified NUCCA practitioners.

Certainly a reason for all her patients to celebrate, since they can get a correction, not just an adjustment!
